hey, lets make a dvd of “get smart again” even though it only had 6 episodes.
this series was the shame of the 90s, i cringed everytime it came on and i cried everytime i wanted to see something good on television but tuned to this by mistake.
Save your DVD dollars and buy Miami Vice seasons 1-5.

This series was one of the funnier ones released in the early 90s. It was about a family of dinosaurs who live in a house and in a type of civilazation. No it doesn’t make sense to me either. Dinosaurs was a comedy targeted more at adults then kids surprisingly. Earl is your typical fat Homer Simpson style father who rarely does much right. Fran is your typical wife who like most TV wifes is alot smarter then her husband and is always dealing with his stupidity. Robby is a typical rebelious teen, his sister Charline is a typical dumb girl and who could forget the wise cracking baby who can’t give his dad an easy time. Despite having what appear to be cute dinosaurs wearing clothes (Shirt but no pants by the way) and watching television the show put alot into politics. Thats were I believed the show faulterd. For example the Weesayso corperation is clearly a metaphor for Americas busniess. They are clearly greedy evil and only concerned about themselves. This sterotypical leftist view of coorperations isn’t helpful and is brought about by wanting big government. It also potrays our society as male dominated and oppressive to women. In a socity where women have all the rights of men and then some (no draft) this view is very backwards. Though I would give it four stars if that was my only problem. The worst crime this obviously leftist series commited was a two part epiosde called The Nuts of War. This episode was a clear attack on the gulf war. In it a foreign country (four leggers) are taking away postacho rights (clearly an accusation that the gulf war was about oil) the country declares war. They are told that the war will be easy but it appears to be much nastier then they realize. It potrays the media as pro-war and holding the truth of war from the public. Anyone who has seen the brutal coverage of the current Irag War can see the media is clearly anti-war and shows whatever they can to make the war look bad. After a boy dies everyone relizes it wasn’t worth it. Every death of a soldier is a tradey but saying that any death makes defending your country not worth it is absolutly insane. This episode and the themes behind it could be a bad apple that spoils the bunch. Often times Dinosaurs is relevent and intelligent but such a horrible protrayale of coorperations and our brave war efforts hurts this series.

Yuck! I still remember this awful TV series when it came out & I can’t believe it’s coming out on DVD. I totally agree with the previous reviewer who said that I guess they will release anything on DVD. This series is a rip-off on the Honeymooners AKA Flinstones which were classics in their own rights (live action & animated). Let’s just change Jackie Gleason & Fred Flinstone to a dinosaur! This series was just never really funny which why it didn’t last long on television. One bad joke after another. Please skip this one if you can!
